Richared Hornsey
Consulting Geologist
Since 1990, has worked for major and junior mining companies in Au, Ni & PGE exploration and mining throughout Africa, Australia, Brazil, the US and Alaska. He is a recognised Ni-sulphide expert having worked at the Nkomati nickel mine, in the East African Ni-belt, the Fraser Range and Brazil. Richard completed his M.Sc. Geology (cum laude) at Nkomati Nickel Mine.
Matthew McCreesh
Project Geologist
Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Geology. He worked for Platinum Group Metals on the Waterberg PGE-Ni-Cu exploration project (Bushveld Complex Northern Limb) prior to joining Umbono in 2018. Matthew completed his Ph.D. on the geology and mineralisation of the Waterberg Project, and his experience in Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation mechanisms makes him a key member of the exploration team.
Richard Montjoie
Technical Manager
Richard holds an M.Sc. in Economic Geology from the University of Witwatersrand and has 20 years experience in greenfield and brownfield Ni-PGE exploration programs in Canada and South Africa. Richard was Project Manager for the Lesego Platinum project, advancing from discovery to bankable feasibility study with SAMREC compliant resource of 50 Moz PGE.
